TMDY # 4 Yangon – Bagan – Yangon (5 days / 4 nights)

Day 1: Yangon
Arrive at Yangon Int’l Airport and transfer to hotel with afternoon at leisure. Evening visit to the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda. Overnight in Yangon.

Day 2: Yangon – Bagan
Transfer to Yangon Airport for early morning flight to Bagan (80 minutes). On arrival at Nyaung Oo Airport, you will be transferred to hotel for refreshment. After settlement, start to tour in Bagan including colourful Nyaung Oo Local Market, Shwezigon Pagoda, Wetkyi-in Gubyaukkyi (a cave temple with exquisite jatakas murals paintings) and the elegant Htilominlo Temple (noted for its plaster carvings) and Tharaba Gate. More explorations of Bagan in the afternoon visit of Ananda (an architectural masterpiece of the early-style temple), Ananda Okkyaung (one of the few surviving brick monasteries from the early Bagan period), Thatbyinnyu (the highest in Bagan, rising to 61 m) and Dhammayangyi Temple (noted for its remarkable brickwork). Enjoy sunset at one of the most famous temples in Bagan. Overnight in Bagan.

Day 3: Bagan – Mt. Popa – Salay - Bagan
After early breakfast at the hotel, drive to Mt. Popa, an extinct volcano over 1500 m high summit, about 48 km south east of Bagan. Visit the Nat worship shrines, stupas and monasteries at the summit. In the afternoon depart Mt. Popa and drive to Salay, an old town with ancient ruins from the Bagan era. Salay sights of interest include Payathonzu complex. Yoe Soe (Youpson) wooden monastery, Man Paya – the largest lacquer Buddha image in Myanmar. Return to Bagan in the late afternoon and stop at Minnanthu village. A visit to some of the most interesting temples such as Payathonzu, Lemyethnar, Nandaminnya and Minnanthu monastery. Overnight in Bagan.

Day 4: Bagan – Yangon
In the morning transfer to the airport for the flight to Yangon. On arrival, transfer to hotel and check in. Afternoon shopping at Bogyok Aung San (Scott) Market, the city’s busiest & liveliest bazaar. Continue to visit Sule Pagoda, Botataung Pagoda, China town and the fruit market. Overnight in Yangon.

Day 5 : Yangon
Morning visits to Chaukhtatkyi Reclining Buddha and Karaweik Royal Barge (a royal floating barge on the Kandawgyi Royal Lake, for photo stop). Transfer to Yangon Airport for departure.
