Chaung Tha Beach
Chaung Tha Beach is located 40 km to the west of Pathein in
Ayeyarwaddy Division. It is very convenient drive from Yangon
via Pathein taking about 5 hours. On the way you can visit the
town of pathein painted parasols.
Ngapali Beach & Thandwe
In Rakhine State Ngapali Beach stretches for over 3 km along the
northern coast. During the dry season from October through May
Ngapali becomes a popular beach resort for locals and visitors
alike offering clean sand and clear water and peace and quiet
for all. Easily reachable by daily flights from Yangon. You can
also fish, swim, horseback ride or play golf. Nearby are several
fishing villages which can be visited by bicycle or by car.
There is an elephant camp near the town of Thandwe which is an
interesting excursion for those who tire of the sun and sand.
There you will find serenity and peace of mind amidst beautiful
scenery. Fishing boats can be hired for trips to some of the
islands off the coast or just for fishing at nearby reefs. There
is an 18- hole Golf Course, located 15 minutes drive from the
beach.
Ngwe Saung Beach
A 5 hour drive from Yangon brings you to Ngwe Saung beach –
Myanmar’s latest beach resort. Its long stretch of purely fine
crystal white sand and deep blue sea, shaded with thousands of
coconut trees growing along the beach. The beach is as long as
up to 15 km along the beach. The beach stretches 15km along the
coast with delightful palm swaying breeze from the Bay of
Bengal. On the way you san visit the town of Pathein known for
its colourful hand painted parasols.
